help with another assignment:
I have to write an essay on Economic Ecology and the fact that communication networks, particularly those in schools, have a huge impact on an individuals dialect, accent and vocabulary, through exposure to new and different people and their dialects. I am currently having a brain fart and I cant' think of any, so if anyone has any suggestion, pleas let me know. And i don't nescessarily mean vocab that you learn in classes, but new words that you learn from other people. For example, the coke, pop, soda debate. Or maybe different words you have learned in context to sex, drinking or partying. Or waht are some phrases that you got from movies taht alot of college students watch, such as napolean dynamite?

So I'm trapped in Eudora for the night. Something weird is going on and there are at least 10 to 15 cop cars a block away from my apartment blocking the entrance and exits to the highway. I don't think it's a wreck, so my guesses would be escaped prisoner or drugs. Plus there was a helocopter circiling, which is weird at night. Bleh. Didn't wanna leave my house anyways. =)

so for my cultural geography class I'm supposed to go aound KC or Lawrence and take pictures of places that demonstrate popular and folk architecture. I was gonna take pictures of the serbian Orthodox church in Strawberry hill that my mom's family goes to for folk culture and I know i can find some houses in johnson county to demonstrate pop culture, but I could really use suggestion from anyone else for other ideas. thanks =)

So I have two days to decide if i want to drop my environmental studies class or not. I'd have to get an A on the next two tests in order to get a B in the class and it doesn't help that both of those tests are sceduled for the same days as my calc tests not to mention I haven't gone to my evrn class for like 2 months. I can't afford to get anything lower than a B this semester, but I'm also not sure if they'll let me into the school if i'm only in 12 hours this semester and I drop down to 9. I've really just kinda come to terms with the fact that I'm not gonna get into the Arch school for the fall because of grades, so I think it'll be best if I just drop the class and retake it next semester since i'll have all of next year to take all of my non major classes if i dont' get in and then i'll have the next five years to take my design labs. And if I drop it I can do better in the 3 classes I do have. I don't know. the future is just very up in the air right now, and I don't like that.

Boys are funny. Tristan won't talk to me about the basketball tournament because my bracket kicked his bracket's ass. I picked florida to win and he picked kansas. not my fault i knew kansas was gonna screw up. =) I beat 13 out of the 14 guys in our poll(of course there had to be one other florida fan that beat me by 3 points), which just proves that girls can know just as much about basketball as boys, or just get really lucky i guess. Monica says my new obsession with college basketball is too lesbionic, but i can't help it, it's fun. And it's fun to watch all the boys get all excited when they win. I'm a dork...

So I have decided that the universe hates me. I have been sick more in the last 3 weeks than i usually am in a year. midterm week I had a sinus infection that turned into bronchitus by spring break. Finally got over that at the end of spring break and then monday I got a fever blister like i always do when i'm sick. my mom gave me this perscription cream that is supposed to work really well and it turns out that I'm allergic to it. My lip swelled up and blistered all day tuesday and was better by wednesday night after i realized that the cream was evil. Felt wonderful yeasterday after my lip had returned to normal size, and then I woke up this morning throwing up. I feel like I have the hangover from hell, but I haven't been drinking. I think my calc teacher is ready to kick me out of class becasue i never come, and I finally gave up on emailing her with why i wasn't coming, becasue i wouldn't believe me at this point either. So I have decided to go to KC for the weekend because mommies always make everything better.

So today was a happy day. A happy, wet sleepy day. Stayed up till 5 in the morning writing my stupid english paper that probably sucks ass, but at least I turned it in. I started pouring down rain as we were leaving english this afternoon and it's been so long since I've played in the rain it was so much fun. Tristan was being all grumpy cause he was wet and trying to talk on the phone and hiw umbrella wouldn't stop breaking and blah blah blah, so I stole his umbrella and made him dance in the rain with me and it cheered him up just like I knew it would. Spring showers make everyone happy if they let it. =) So then we went to the pita pit soaking wet, in my khakis and white shirt, which i always happen to wear when it rains, i'm cursed. Then I made everyone watch "How to lose a guy in 10 days" becasue no matter how anti-chick flick you are, that's just a funy movie. Tristan's new nickname is princess sophia, which so fits him. and then on to BWW, and I'm so sick of that place that if I never eat another wing in my life i'll be happy. And now I should be studying for my calc quiz but i'm in such a i'm so tired i'm wired mood that i don't think that is gonig to happen. lala....bounces off to go eat brownie...

So I was passed out on sarahs floor in lawrence this morning with like ten other people and i started hearing weird noises. I was so hungover plus it was 8 in the morning so i assumed someone was just having sex but then i looked out the window next to my head and it looked like the tree was about to fly through it. I still didn't realize anything was wrong so i'm just staring out the window thinking this is really weird when someone starts screaming tornado. so we all went to the basement. I've been in the area when tornadoes have hit before but i've never actually been in the middle of one and i must say that i didn't find it fun and adventerous. Sarah's neighborhood is really messed up, but we got lucky and nothing fell on her house, which was good. I really really don't like tornadoes.

So this week isn't starting out any better than last week. I couldn't sleep last night because i started my new job today and i always get giddy the night before starting something new. I have to semi dress up for work, more than my usual at least, so I was wearing these shoes that I don't usually wear and then ended up killing my feet. They were killing me by the time i got to my first class but i told myself i'd be fine. By the time I left my job at five, the blisters on the bottom of my feet were popping and i could barely walk. It doesn't really help that I've had some fucking sinus infection since saturday so I can't breathe or talk very well at the moment. So I was completely miserable at my job and I felt so sorry for the person training me because she was really nice and I probably seemed like a lazy bitch since I was so miserable. And now I have an English paper due tomorrow that isn't finished and I haven't started my Calc homework and my calc teacher is ready to kill me becasue i've been slacking off, and Calc isn't a class you can slack off in. And I have to be back at work at 9am tomorrow and I HATE getting up in the morning. So right now I just want to go to sleep and wake up Wednesday morning and pretend tomorrow doesn't exist, but I'm sure that my feet will be reminding me all day tomorrow that tomorrow does indeed exist. Somebody please throw fairy dust on me and make me sleep forever.

Why is it that a really good week is almost always followed by a really bad week. Last week was the best week i've had in a long time, and for reasons i don't konw i was oddly happy all week. And I got a B on the environment test i thought i failed and I had an awsome job interview and got the job for a secretary position on campus. Then, poof, I wake up monday morning and first thing my car won't start. Since I was already running late for my calc review and I had a geography review right after that I just busted out in tears and called Haley bawling my eyes out. Her and Zack came to look at it and determined that my starter wasn't working. Needless to say I missed both of my reviews. So I've been crashing at Tristans for the last few days so that I can walk to campus, which hasn't been good for my study habits. I had a calc test today, which i'm pretty sure i failed and I have a geography test tomorrow that I've tried studying for but I can't seem to retain any information. Supposed to take car to mechanic tomorrow after test. I so just want to go to bed and sleep for the rest of the week.

Whoever said that we get smarter and more responsible after the first year of college was wrong. I intended to keep up on everything this semester from the beginning, mostly becasue my future depends on it, but that didn't work so well. I've kept up with three of my four classes, but the fourth one just seems so pointless i had like a two week period where i didn't really go to class. And it really doesn't help that it is my first class of the day. So I realized yesterday that my first big test in there is tomorrow(today) and although I've tried to cram all day I just cna't seem to retain any information. Currently procrstinating, another trait of mine that i can't seem to get rid of, and it is going to be a really long night. =( At least we get to drop one test grade, just hope i don't screw up on the next one too.

Yay. So i'm finally hooked up to the internet at home. So exciting, except that i have no time to get on it right now. Skipped all my classes today cause i'm a loser so i have to make sure to do really well on my calc homework to suck up to the teacher. =( And then i have an advising appointment with the associate dean of architecture tomorrow to convince him that he really should let me into the school for the fall even though my GPA isnt high enough and i have no drafting or drawing experience. That'll be fun. Lala. So happy though.

Ok, so first week of school is almost over finally. I had to change my schedule 50 million times to get the classes i needed for pre-arch to get into arch for the fall semester which sucked, plus i'm gonna have to take physics over the summer which really sucks. And I have to walk from snow to summerfield every fucking day, so the fucking hill that they decided to build KU on is kicking my ass. here's my schedule for those of you nosy people. =)

So life is going really good right now. I'm all set up in my apartment and i love living by myself with just my cat. I have orientation at KU in the morning and i'll get to enroll in classes then(which kinda sucks because there aren't very may classes left that i wanna take but at least ill be at a real university again). I'm getting the internet at my apartment on monday, yay. And i still don't have a job cause i havent really been looking but i'll start looking more once i have my scedule tomorrow. And that's about it. should prolly go to bed now cause orientation starts at 745 tomorrow morning. Hope everyone is doing good.

So I'm still alive, for now. I've decided to go to KU for the spring semester and I move into a 1 bdrm apartment in Eudora on Friday, which is exciting. Still haven't been able to enroll in classes though, so i'm prolly gonna have crappy classes the first semester, but it's better than kckcc. Also looking for a new job cause i quit mine on saturday. don't know why, just decided to quit. Spent the first day of the new year barfing all the way down antioch while haley was driving me home at 8 in the morning. it was charming i'm sure. now at tristans gonna get drunk some more. Hope everyone is doing good.

By the way annie, i need you cell number. my phone broke last month and for some reason your number got deleted off of it.
